Climate ambition accelerates across the Arab States
Across the Arab States, temperatures are rising faster than the global average. At the same time, rainfall is diminishing. These changes threaten food and water security in an already hot and dry region. They also impact peace and stability. Many countries are already seeing climate change exacerbate conflict and displacement, and are starting to apply integrated solutions in their responses.

They are rising to the challenge. In 2021, each submitted updated NDCs, all with enhanced adaptation measures, and strengthened targets towards low-emissions development.
